November 14th is traditionally World Quality Day. It was first celebrated in 1989, and since then it has become a tradition on the second Thursday of November to congratulate employees of the relevant services on their professional holiday.
In recent years, much has been done at the Poltava Automobile Unit Plant in the area of improving product quality, as well as in the processes of the enterprise’s quality management system.
Of course, the most important and significant achievement of recent years is the receipt of an international certificate that complies with the new IATF 16949 standard.
This stage was preceded by a significant amount of work that lasted for several years, aimed at improving the processes of the management system at the enterprise.
As part of the project to implement the Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949, numerous education and training sessions were conducted, including training for the APQP team. The training program included the basics of project management and an in-depth study of APQP stages and tools. All practical classes were conducted using real enterprise projects. As a result, Design Flow Chart and DFMEA, Process Flow Charts, PFMEA and Management Plans were developed. In addition, trainings were also conducted – ‘Features of using SPC and MSA’ and training on the topic ‘Lean Manufacturing’.
The verification and assessment of the documentation of all processes of the Poltava Automobile Unit Plant, including the audit of production processes, the quality management system that preceded the receipt of the certificate, was carried out by independent European auditors, during which the focus of the company’s employees was noted not only to improve quality, but also to take into account all wishes and consumer requirements.
The mission of the enterprise clearly defines the priorities and socially responsible role that the enterprise assumes: “Providing high-quality and safe products to vehicle manufacturers and consumers among the population, helping to improve life safety.” And, of course, the company carries out many activities aimed at unconditionally achieving these goals.
